The Royal Institute of Oil Painters Annual Exhibition once again showcases the work of many of the UK's most exciting young painters alongside the work of more established names. It is an opportunity to gauge the continued evolution of oil painting in this country and to see how it is a fundamental and vital part of the wider art world.
Offering valuable prizes such as The Phyllis Roberts Award (worth £2,000) and The Winsor & Newton Young Artist Awards, the ROI continues to lay the foundations for future generations to enjoy and achieve artistic expression with this most adaptable and durable medium.
Re-Birth
This year the Royal Institute of Oil Painters presents a show- within-a-show on the theme of 'Re-Birth'. Members and non-members alike have put forward works that interpret this theme widely through the eyes of contemporary artists, and complement the broader exhibition of more varied subjects in the same medium.
